WWDC 2026: See everything Apple announced at the keynote.
WWDC 2026 kicks off in a few hours, and before a single slide about iOS 27 or the new Siri gets shown, Tim Cook has already won the morning. He posted a short video on X, and instead of the usual countdown teaser nonsense, it is a parade of famous faces all taking a crack at the two words that have basically become his catchphrase.
If you have watched even one Apple keynote, you know the bit. Cook walks out, the crowd loses it, and he opens with “Good morning.” Every single time. He has said it so often that it stopped being a greeting and turned into a full blown meme, and clearly Apple’s marketing team knows it.
So here is the gag. The video rounds up Rhea Seehorn from Pluribus, Brett Goldstein from Ted Lasso, Jimmy Fallon, Whoopi Goldberg, country singer Lainey Wilson, producer Zedd, and a pile of other celebrities, and has each of them riff on “good morning” in their own way. Then Cook closes it out with the perfect mic drop: “I think I’ll say it the way I always say it.”
That last line is the whole reason this video works. It is a guy leaning fully into his own meme, and honestly, good for him.
Here is the part that makes it land harder than a normal pre-event hype clip. This is almost certainly Cook’s last one. He steps down as CEO on September 1, with hardware engineering chief John Ternus taking over the top job. That means today’s keynote is very likely the final time Tim Cook walks out and says those two words to open an Apple event. After what, fifteen years of “Good morning,” that is a genuinely big deal, and the video is clearly built as a little send off rather than just another teaser.
The keynote itself goes live at 10 a.m. Pacific, which is 1 p.m. Eastern. Plenty of time to watch a bunch of celebrities say good morning before Apple tells us what the next year of software looks like.
