According to new data from Nielsen, Pluribus racked up 483 million minutes watched between December 22–28, a 40% jump week over week. That spike pushed the show to No. 6 on Nielsen’s Top 10 Originals chart, its best placement yet.

A Finale-Fueled Surge

That momentum matters. Just two weeks earlier (December 8–14), Pluribus sat at No. 9 with 360 million minutes viewed. The finale clearly brought in latecomers — and kept existing fans glued.

At the very top of the chart, Stranger Things dominated everything, pulling in a massive 6.9 billion minutes watched as viewers binged chapters five, six, and seven of its final season. No surprises there.

Apple TV’s lone Chart-Topper

What is notable: Pluribus was Apple TV+’s only show to crack the Top 10 that week. And it beat out heavy hitters from rival streamers, including:

  • Mayor of Kingstown
  • Percy Jackson & the Olympians
  • The Beast in Me
  • Taylor Swift: The End of an Era

That’s a strong showing — especially in a week packed with holiday viewing.

Punching Above its Weight

Here’s where it gets even more interesting. Pluribus hit 483 million minutes with just nine episodes. That puts it in the same conversation as shows with far larger catalogs, like:

  • Stranger Things (41 episodes)
  • Emily in Paris (50 episodes)

Yes, Fallout also placed high with a lean episode count, but Pluribus still stands out for how efficiently it drove engagement.

Apple says it’s a hit — But the Numbers are Fuzzy

All of this lines up with Apple’s recent claim that Pluribus is now the most-watched show in Apple TV+ history. The catch? Apple didn’t share any hard data to back that up.

Nielsen’s figures only cover U.S. viewing, so the global picture remains unclear. Still, based on this finale-driven surge, one thing’s obvious: Pluribus didn’t just end its season — it leveled up.

And if this is what a finale can do, the next season could be even bigger.
