Apple TV+ just dropped the release date for The Last Thing He Told Me season 2, and fans of Jennifer Garner’s mystery drama won’t have to wait long.

The hit series officially returns Friday, February 20, 2026, continuing the story that captivated millions in its debut season.

A Sequel Born From a New Book

Season 1 of The Last Thing He Told Me was based on the bestselling novel by Laura Dave, originally written as a standalone story. But Dave has since penned a follow-up titled The First Time I Saw Him, which releases in January 2026 and Apple TV’s second season is based directly on that new book.

That means this isn’t a reboot or a spin-off. It’s a direct continuation, a rare move for a series that started life as a limited run.

What to Expect in Season 2

Jennifer Garner is back as Hannah Hall, alongside Angourie Rice, David Morse, and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. The cast expands this time with Judy Greer and Rita Wilson, adding more weight to what’s shaping up to be another intense mystery.

If you missed the first season, here’s the spoiler-free setup:

Hannah’s world collapses when her husband suddenly disappears, leaving behind a note and more questions than answers. Forced to team up with her 16-year-old stepdaughter Bailey, she unravels a truth that could change everything.

Apple TV+ Is Building a Killer 2026 Lineup

Apple’s early 2026 slate is already looking stacked. January will see new seasons of:

And now, The Last Thing He Told Me joins the lineup in February, keeping Apple TV+’s thriller game strong heading into spring.
