Right, so here’s a sentence I did not have on my 2026 bingo card. The man who has built an entire show around not wanting to go anywhere is coming back to do it all over again, and apparently he’s enjoying it now. Apple TV has confirmed that ‘The Reluctant Traveler with Eugene Levy’ is getting an eight-episode fourth season, and the whole pitch this time is that Eugene is going to stop being so reluctant. Which, you know, slightly undermines the title, but let’s roll with it.
If you missed the third season, Levy spent it ticking off bucket list items across Mexico, Austria, the UK, South Korea, Ireland, India, Canada and the US, usually with a famous mate in tow. It worked. That run pulled a 7.7 average on IMDb, which is just enough to edge out the first two seasons. Not a blowout, but a win is a win, and clearly enough of one that Apple wanted more.
Here’s the twist for season four, straight from Apple’s own announcement. Levy is going to spend the new run saying “yes” to exactly the sort of travel experiences he has spent his entire life carefully dodging. The man whose comfort zone is the word “no” has, after three seasons on the road, decided he might secretly have a bit of an adventurous streak. So expect unfamiliar food, unexpected challenges, and the kind of activities he would normally turn down before you’d even finished the sentence.
Levy himself, true to form, could barely bring himself to admit it. He conceded, fairly begrudgingly, that three seasons have taught him saying “yes” to new things “is not necessarily a bad thing”. High praise from a man who has made reluctance his whole personality.
Now for the bad news, and it is the usual Apple bad news. There is no premiere date yet. And before you get too excited, remember the timeline here. Season three was announced back in June 2024 and did not actually land until September 2025. So if history repeats, these eight new episodes could be quite a long way off. Set a reminder, maybe two.
