Today’s the day: Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition is officially available on the Mac and no, this isn’t some watered-down port.

CD PROJEKT RED just dropped the full experience for Apple Silicon Macs, and it’s playable starting today, July 17, via the Mac App Store, Steam, GOG.com, and Epic Games. If you’ve got an M1 or newer Mac with at least 16GB of RAM, you’re good to go.

Wait, Cyberpunk on a Mac?

Yep. Apple promised this back when they showed off the M4 MacBook Pro last fall, and now, they’re delivering. Powered by Metal and optimized for Apple Silicon, this version of Cyberpunk 2077 isn’t just playable, it’s actually built to shine on the Mac.

That means native support for:

  • Path tracing and frame generation
  • HDR tuning on Apple’s bright, color-accurate displays
  • Spatial Audio with dynamic head-tracking when using AirPods
  • And best of all? Each Mac gets a custom “For This Mac” graphics preset, fine-tuned to its hardware

What’s Included?

This is the Ultimate Edition, which means you get:

  • The full base game (yep, Keanu Reeves is here)
  • The Phantom Liberty expansion (starring Idris Elba)
  • Every update to date, including Patch 2.3 with new vehicles, photo mode features, and gameplay tweaks

Performance?

Cyberpunk uses Apple’s Metal API to squeeze out top-tier performance without chewing through your battery in an hour. If you’re on macOS 15.5 or later, it’ll run at its absolute best. And when macOS Tahoe drops later this year? You’ll get even more performance upgrades thanks to Metal 4, MetalFX Interpolation, and Denoising in a future update.

Oh — and controllers?

Totally supported. But if you’re sticking with a Magic Mouse or Trackpad, you’re covered there too.

If you’ve got a newer MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, or even a Mac mini, this might be the most visually impressive game you’ve ever played on macOS. And for Apple to finally have Cyberpunk 2077 in its library? That’s a huge win.

Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition is out now, check it out on the Mac App Store, Steam, GOG, or Epic.
