Buckle up, Apple fans!

Rumors have been ongoing about the launch of the iPhone SE 4 and a new lineup of iPads at the beginning of 2025.

Now, one of the more prominent insiders on all things Apple, Mark Gurman, has refined his prediction to include that these long-anticipated devices are on track to reach the market “by April.”

What’s Coming: New iPhones and iPads on the Horizon

In the latest scoop, an anonymous but credible source on X, formerly Twitter, revealed that these devices will come pre-installed with iOS 18.3. Apple’s recent efforts to prepare the software for the new hardware point to significant under-the-hood enhancements in this update.

Traditionally, iOS and iPadOS “.3” releases arrive in late January, so this aligns perfectly with the timeline.

Of course, that does not necessarily translate into Apple revealing the iPhone SE 4 and new iPads on that very iOS 18.3 release. In fact, according to Gurman, it is projected to be a reveal between March and April to line up with Apple’s pattern of launches.

A Spring Launch: What History Tells Us

Apple launched the M4 iPad Pro (available on Amazon) and M2 iPad Air in May with iPadOS 17.4. And this year, iOS 18.4 is arriving in April, bringing Apple Intelligence for non-English languages stateside. With the expectation that the new devices will ship with iOS 18.3, that puts late March to early April as the window when they’ll launch.

The Rumored Lineup: iPhone SE 4, iPad 11, and iPad Air

If insider whispers are to be believed, at least three new iOS devices will make an appearance in Apple’s spring showcase:

  • iPhone SE 4: An updated interpretation of the word ‘affordability’, it’s rumored that the SE 4 features an iPhone 14-like design with a single rear camera and continues Apple’s A18 chip for top-shelf performance.

  • iPad 11: The eleventh generation of iPad might just get a tremendous jump with the newer A17 Pro chip, clearing the way for Apple Intelligence compatibility.

  • iPad Air: There are no clear developments on this line, especially because last year Apple refurbished it with M2. But many believe that maybe it will undergo some minor refreshments only to stay alive in the cutthroat competition.

Announcement Format: Special Event or Streamed Reveal?

While that’s not for certain, Apple can also decide to introduce these gadgets via a special spring event, similar to how it has done previously, by publishing videos one after the other. Anyway, this lineup of gadgets is supposed to send ripples from the tech giant.

With anticipation high and rumblings galore, the eyes are all on what Apple will do next. Whether you’re an iPhone loyalist or an iPad aficionado, spring 2025 will have something special in store for everyone. Watch this space!
