Apple keynotes start at 10am Pacific. They have started at 10am Pacific for as long as anyone can remember, and there is no reason to expect this September to be different.
Everything else about watching one has changed over the years. The stream no longer needs Safari, no longer needs an Apple device, and no longer requires you to sit through the whole thing to find out what the iPhone costs. Here is where to watch, when it starts where you are, and what happens in what order.

Australia and New Zealand get the worst of it as usual. Sydney at 3am is the classic Apple keynote experience, and the sensible move there is sleep followed by the recording at breakfast.
Where to Watch
Four options, all free, none requiring an Apple device.
- Apple’s website. apple.com carries the stream and works in any modern browser, including Chrome, Edge and Firefox. The days of a Safari requirement are long gone.
- YouTube. Apple streams simultaneously on its own YouTube channel, and this is the option most people should take. It handles pausing, rewinding and playback speed, and the recording stays up afterwards with chapter markers.
- The Apple TV app. On an Apple TV box, or the app on a smart TV, under the Apple Events section.
- The Apple Developer app. On iPhone, iPad and Mac, which also gives you the session content afterwards.
YouTube at 1.5x speed with the chapter list open is how to watch a modern Apple keynote if you value your afternoon. These are pre-recorded films now rather than live stage events, which means the pacing is deliberate and the interesting parts are signposted.
How Long It Runs and What Order Things Come In
September keynotes run between 70 and 100 minutes. The running order has been stable for years.
- Tim Cook opens with company news and a retail or services statistic.
- Apple Watch, usually first because it is the shortest segment.
- Any audio or home products.
- The iPhone, taking up roughly half the total runtime.
- Pricing, availability and pre-order dates, always at the very end.
If you only want the prices, join with fifteen minutes left. Apple puts every number on one slide near the close, and it is the only part of the keynote you cannot get from a spec page five minutes later.
The foldable, confirmed as the iPhone Duo, was the wildcard in that running order. A genuinely new product category usually gets the closing slot, which would push the iPhone Pro segment earlier and make the whole thing run long.
What Happens Immediately Afterwards
The interesting hour is the one after the stream ends, not the one during it.
Apple’s tech specs pages go live within minutes and contain every number the keynote skipped: exact dimensions, weights, battery hours broken down by activity, and the regional feature availability footnotes. Apple’s online store reopens with final pricing for your country. The trade-in grid is revised, usually within a day.
Hands-on coverage from the press area appears about ninety minutes later, and that is your first look at anything from an angle Apple did not choose. For a foldable, that footage matters more than anything in the keynote, because the crease is the whole story and Apple’s video will not show it.
When Apple Will Confirm the Date
Invitations go out roughly two weeks beforehand, which points to the final week of August. The event itself looks most likely to be Tuesday 8 or Wednesday 9 September. Monday the 7th is Labor Day in the US and Apple avoids making press travel over a public holiday, which pushes it to the 8th or 9th.
Nothing is confirmed until the invitation lands. Anyone stating a date with certainty right now is reading the same calendar as everyone else.
Worth Setting an Alarm For?
If you are in Europe, yes, because 6pm or 7pm is a civilised hour and the recording never quite matches watching it unfold. If you are in Asia-Pacific, no. Sleep, then watch it at 1.5x in the morning with the chapter list open, and you will lose nothing except the ability to post first.
The one reason to be awake anywhere is pre-orders, and those open on the Friday after the keynote rather than on the night, so there is no rush.
