Apple Getting Ready to Launch M4 MacBook Air in Early 2025

Apple is reportedly gearing up to release updated MacBook Air models featuring its next-generation M4 chip in early 2025.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the new MacBook Airs, available in both 13-inch and 15-inch models, are expected to debut between January and March. While the company just refreshed the MacBook Air lineup with M3 chips earlier this year, the M4 update promises further performance enhancements, though the overall design will remain similar to the current M2 models.

No M4 MacBook Air in Apple’s Upcoming Announcements

The anticipated M4 MacBook Air models won’t be part of Apple’s rumoured announcements next week. Instead, Apple is expected to reveal updated versions of the MacBook Pro, Mac Mini, and iMac, all of which will feature new chips. This upcoming event will likely focus on professional-grade hardware, leaving the MacBook Air refresh for a later date.

Mac Studio and Mac Pro Updates Also Delayed

For those waiting for an update to the Mac Studio, Gurman suggests that an M4-powered version may arrive sometime after March 2025, following a significant software release. This means that the next Mac Studio could launch between March and June next year. Similarly, an M4 version of the Mac Pro is reportedly in development, but no specific release timeline has been provided.

Other Apple Product Launches in 2025

In addition to the MacBook Air update, Apple has several other products planned for release in the spring of 2025. Gurman reports that the company is working on a new iPhone SE, refreshed iPad Air models, “upgraded” iPad keyboards, and new entry-level iPads. These launches will follow the recent release of the seventh-generation iPad Mini and the forthcoming introduction of Apple Intelligence, the company’s new suite of AI-powered features.

As Apple continues to roll out new hardware and software innovations, the first half of 2025 is shaping up to be an exciting period for both Mac and iPad users, with performance upgrades and new features on the horizon.
