If you haven’t had enough of Anya Taylor-Joy’s high-octane energy after Furiosa, Apple TV has the perfect remedy. The streamer just dropped the first trailer for Lucky, a pulse-pounding heist series that looks like a masterclass in tension.
Based on the bestselling novel by Marissa Stapley, the show isn’t just your standard “job gone wrong” story. It’s a high-stakes survival game with a cast that is, frankly, ridiculous for a limited series.
The Setup
Taylor-Joy plays Lucky Armstrong, a master con artist who finally hits the jackpot: a multimillion-dollar heist. The problem? It goes sideways almost immediately.
Now, she’s the most wanted woman in America. She is being hunted by Agent Billie Rand (Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor) on behalf of the FBI, but that might be the least of her worries. She also has a ruthless crime boss played by the legendary Annette Bening breathing down her neck.
A Star-Studded Lineup
While Taylor-Joy is the main draw, she is backed by a powerhouse ensemble. Timothy Olyphant stars as Lucky’s father, while Drew Starkey (from Outer Banks) plays her partner in crime.

The creative pedigree is just as strong. The show is executive produced by Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine and led by showrunner Jonathan Tropper, the mind behind the hit series See and Warrior. If his previous work is any indication, expect the action to be gritty, fast, and incredibly smart.
Mark Your Calendars
Apple is sticking to its successful “two-episode premiere” strategy for this one. You can catch the first two chapters on Wednesday, July 15. After that, it’s a weekly drip-feed of adrenaline every Wednesday through August 19.
If you’re a fan of Killing Eve or The Flight Attendant, this needs to be at the top of your watchlist. It’s got the same mix of dark humor, fast thinking, and “how is she going to get out of this” energy that makes for the best summer binges.
